Yoga is more than movement—it’s a pathway to self-discovery, healing, and deep connection. My teaching is rooted in creating a safe and empowering space where students can develop awareness of their breath, emotions, thoughts, and body.
My journey into yoga began after a traumatic brain injury, where meditation became my first tool for healing. Learning to manage pain through breath and mindfulness led me to the Love Your Brain Foundation, deepening my exploration of yoga as a transformative practice. This personal experience fuels my passion for teaching yoga as a means of self-care and empowerment, ensuring that my classes are accessible and deeply effective.
I specialize in yin yoga, breathwork, and meditation, weaving in knowledge from energy medicine, quantum physics, psycho-neuro-immunology, and coaching to create an experience that supports healing on multiple levels.
I was trained by Paul Grilley, the teacher who introduced yin yoga to North America as one half of Taoist yoga. His focus on biomechanics and honoring individual anatomy continues to shape my approach—no two bodies are the same, and our practice should reflect that.
My classes are designed to support individuals recovering from injury, managing chronic pain, or simply seeking greater ease and connection. With a highly personalized approach, I integrate props, functional movement, nervous system regulation techniques, and mindfulness practices to meet each student’s unique needs.
I am a certified yoga teacher (YT200) and have completed over 400 hours of training in the Science of Mindful Awareness (SOMA), multiple meditation and breathwork certifications, Yin Yoga with Paul Grilley, Pain Care Aware, and trauma-informed movement. My ongoing studies in holistic medicine, biomechanics, and nervous system regulation continue to shape my teaching, ensuring every class is both safe and effective.
Whether you’re seeking physical relief, emotional balance, or a deeper connection to yourself, my goal is to help you find what you need—on and off the mat.
I believe that through Yoga we can practice arriving fully - In all the thoughts, feelings, curiosities and wilding of our humanness.
I invite all levels of students into my classes, from brand new beginners to life-long practitioners - welcoming each unique individual exactly as they are. My gift is in empowering each student to arrive and practice in their wholeness and to accompany that wholeness into their life.
My journey to Yoga Therapy started after a Cancer diagnosis which left me feeling like my body was fighting against me. At times in my life when I felt I lost my health - and my path, Yoga was how I always felt safe to return to Self. It didn’t matter if the day was heavy or joyful, my practice and community was always there to honor exactly where I was at, no expectations - just as I was. My purpose now is to share this life skill with as many people as possible. Yoga works.
My background as a regulated health professional is in Kinesiology, Sports Performance. I am also a 500hrYT and soon wrapping up my 1000 hours in Yoga Therapy diploma (C-IAYT).
I guide therapeutic yoga with a focus on meeting our emotions with compassionate curiosity. My intention in my Yoga Therapy For Big Feelings classes is to create safe opportunities to meet your whole self and build intentional relationships with the many layers of YOU that help you remember and embrace your complete wholeness.
I specialize in working with physical injuries and emotional challenges. My classes offer slow movement and pranayama (breath work) to support our class intention/theme as well as guided meditations intended to help you feel more compassionate to others, have greater compassion for yourself and sustain a sense of connectedness and confidence in your own Being.
Yoga is my invitation to connect deeply with the body’s wisdom. I believe in cultivating presence, self-discovery, and empowerment by creating a space for students to honour their unique rhythms and find joy in movement.
My yoga journey began in 2000 and was profoundly transformed during my 2006 Ashram experience at the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre in India. Drawn to the free-flowing energy of Prana Vinyasa®, I studied extensively with Shiva Rea and earned my 500-hour RYT certification in 2017. Alongside my vinyasa offerings, I integrate the principles of therapeutic yoga, breathwork, and somatic practices into my teaching. Additionally, my background in Visionary Craniosacral Work® through the Milne Institute informs my intuitive and holistic approach.
In my All Level Flow and Vinyasa classes, I guide students through
Prana Vinyasa Flow® breath-inspired movement sequences, inviting them to explore both meditative stillness and dynamic expression. These classes are an opportunity to cultivate vitality, resilience, and presence — creating a liberating experience that extends far beyond the mat.
For those seeking a gentle midday reset, my lunchtime Yin class offers a mindful pause. Through longer-held postures and intentional breathwork, we soothe the nervous system, release tension, and reconnect with the body. My Yang/Yin classes weave together flowing movement and grounded stillness, encouraging both strength and surrender.
In my therapeutic yoga sessions, I offer a personalized approach for those navigating injury, stress, or structural imbalances. Combining elements of breath-centered movement, alignment support, and intuitive guidance, I create a space for deep healing and self-awareness.
Whether you're a beginner, a seasoned practitioner, or someone exploring yoga as a path to healing, I’m honoured to walk alongside you on this journey. Let’s explore what it means to move, breathe, and live with ease.
As a certified Women’s Coaching Specialist, Menopause Doula, yoga teacher (RYT200), and Barre instructor with training in yoga for traumatic brain injury (TBI), I specialize in integrating lifestyle choices as the first line of defence against age-related factors.
My own experiences of suffering two concussions, an occupational stress injury from military service, menopause, and as a person with a neurodivergent trait, led me to a deeper exploration of the power of movement - whether to build strength or release stress - as an effective healing modality after injury, illness or significant emotional event. I work with individuals transitioning through midlife, empowering them to take agency of their health.
I work with individuals who, like me, want to cultivate resilience in their healing journey after a brain injury, and I work with anyone of any age who is open-minded and ready to transform - body, mind and spirit.
Still and moving meditation has taught me to love all the broken parts with a growth mindset. So now, I approach my classes from a place of self-compassion and acceptance, realizing that one’s greatest strength lies in embracing their vulnerabilities. We can all do hard things, but we do it better together on and off the mat.
I believe yoga is a journey of self-discovery, a steady companion that guides us through our internal landscape. For me, it has been a practice of coming home to myself — a space to explore, connect, and grow. As Ram Dass said, "We're all just walking each other home."
My relationship with yoga began in my teens, though it wasn’t always a smooth path. From giggling through classes to embracing yoga as a social outlet, I eventually recognized its deeper role in my life. Curiosity led me to complete my first Yoga Teacher Training, not to teach, but to better understand the practice. Through that journey, I realized yoga had always supported me — both in my career and personal growth.
Now, I’m passionate about helping others uncover what yoga can mean for them. My teaching is rooted in Polyvagal Theory, anatomy, alignment, and somatics. Breathwork, meditation, and intentional movement are key elements in my classes, which are designed to offer both grounding and growth. With thoughtful music, reflective themes, and compassionate guidance, I strive to create immersive experiences for all.
Whether you’re a beginner, a seasoned practitioner, an athlete, or someone seeking relief from pain or stress, my classes offer a space to listen to your body’s wisdom. My credentials include a 200-hour RYT certification, along with specialized training in aerial yin, youth yoga, Pain Care Aware, and restorative yoga. While these certifications inform my teaching, it’s the experiences I’ve shared with my students that continue to shape me the most.
I believe yoga belongs to everyone. Together, let’s explore, connect, and find our way home.
I am a 500-hour RYT with extensive training in yoga, Ayurveda, self-love, nutrition, meditation and PCA certified.
While I first came to yoga for the physical practice, it was the deeper teachings—including the 8 Limbs of Yoga and the resonance of Sanskrit—that truly inspired my path. My classes are an invitation to explore yoga as a holistic practice, cultivating a greater connection between body, mind, and heart.
I believe in celebrating our perfectly imperfect nature, encouraging students to meet themselves with compassion and curiosity. By incorporating props and mindful movement, we create a sustainable and supportive practice that honors the unique needs of each body. My approach emphasizes strength building, breath awareness, and deep listening to the subtle messages our bodies offer.
Yoga has the power to empower and transform, and I am passionate about sharing this practice in a way that supports your growth, both on and off the mat. My intention is to offer a space where you feel grounded, balanced, and inspired to embrace your authentic self.
I consider myself a passionate yoga instructor dedicated to guiding others on their journey of self-discovery and healing. I am an Anusara Inspired RYT200, and have additional certifications in pre-natal yoga, kids yoga, Restorative and Yin.
For me, yoga is far more than a physical practice — it is a way of life that unites breath, body, and spirit. I believe yoga offers a path to presence, helping individuals cultivate greater spatial awareness and recognize their connection to something beyond the physical world.
My teaching is deeply informed by my personal transformation. I know firsthand the power of yoga to heal and restore, both physically and mentally. My classes are infused with authenticity, lightheartedness, and a sense of play. I love bringing laughter and joy to the practice, reminding students that life is not meant to be taken too seriously. When we shed the weight of ego and expectation, we create space for genuine growth and self-love.
I weave together the principles of Hatha, Yin, Restorative, and Vinyasa yoga. My approach is both therapeutic and intentional, integrating breathwork, anatomy, and the use of props to ensure accessibility for all levels. I strive to empower my students to listen to their own bodies, offering modifications and challenges that suit both beginners and advanced practitioners alike.
I welcome all levels of students into my classes, from athletes and seniors to those recovering from injury or seeking stress relief. My ultimate goal is to create a supportive environment where students can move with intention, find stillness, and reconnect with their inner selves. In my classes, laughter is celebrated, humility is honored, and each individual is reminded that the most valuable thing we carry with us is love.
Beginning Hatha Apprentice to Lisa Pearson
My teaching focuses on gentle, accessible yoga poses that support all body types, paired with meditation techniques that use prompts and breathwork to calm the nervous system. I believe in creating a space where everyone feels supported, comfortable, and at ease—whether you're new to the practice or experienced.
Like many, I initially struggled with quieting my mind in meditation. It wasn’t until I studied with Chopra International that I realized meditation isn’t about stopping thoughts but changing our relationship with them. Through this practice, I learned tools to build awareness, regulate my nervous system, and cultivate mindfulness—even in stressful situations. Inspired by this transformation, I became a certified meditation instructor and now love guiding others, including my own children, on their journeys.
A few years later, I discovered Yin Yoga—a game changer for my tight back and hips. This low-impact practice increased my mobility while inviting deep stillness and mindfulness. It became the perfect bridge between mind and body, and I knew I had to share it with others.
Whether I’m leading a meditation session or a yoga class, I view each experience as an opportunity to explore a variety of tools: relaxation techniques, breathwork, mindfulness prompts, movement, intention-setting, and stillness. With consistent practice, we can reverse the effects of stress from the inside out.
I am a certified Yin Yoga Instructor, Chopra Certified Meditation Instructor, Chopra Ayurveda Health Instructor & Total Wellness Coach. With nearly a decade of experience in bringing people together through in-person retreats, workshops, gatherings, and online classes— I enjoy helping others nourish their mind, body, and spirit in sustainable, meaningful ways.
No matter where you are in your journey, I am here to support you.
I have been a Registered Massage Therapist for over two decades, but my passion for movement and healing extends far beyond the treatment room. My journey led me to Hanna Somatic Education, Somatic Yoga, and pain science, where I discovered the profound impact of mindful movement in relieving chronic pain, restoring mobility, and fostering a deep sense of ease in the body.
In my classes, I create a space where students can rediscover comfort, safety, and connection to themselves. I guide people through gentle, intentional movement, breath awareness, and neuroscience-based education, helping them improve posture, regulate the nervous system, and move with greater ease. My approach is highly individualized, allowing each student to set their own boundaries and explore movement that feels safe and accessible.
I love working with individuals experiencing pain, stress, and movement challenges, including back pain, scoliosis, sciatica, joint replacements, plantar fasciitis, and mental health challenges. I also have a deep appreciation for working with youth and those in later life stages, helping them cultivate a lasting mind-body connection that supports them through all of life’s transitions.
I believe that movement is medicine—an opportunity to unwind, reset, and rediscover balance, both physically and emotionally. My goal is to guide each person toward greater ease, resilience, and self-awareness, one breath and one movement at a time.
Movement and music have always been sacred to me. I find a deep connection between the dance of yoga and the expression of song—both carry rhythm, authenticity, and a constant unfolding of lessons. I began my yoga practice at 17, initially seeking a deeper understanding of breath to support my singing. But very quickly, I felt a profound energetic shift and knew I had to explore what made yoga so transformative.
In my classes, I weave together the rhythm, pace, and ambiance of music to create an easeful momentum—one that allows students to feel free and empowered through their own physical expression. My intention is to hold space for fun, stillness, and deep connection, helping students step away from the many stimulations of life and return to breath, movement, and the incredible intelligence of the body—no matter where they are in their practice or their journey.
I have completed 500 hours of teacher training at Semperviva Yoga College in Vancouver, BC, and am certified in Yin, Hatha, Kundalini, Vinyasa, Prenatal, Pain Care, Restorative, and Trauma-Informed Yoga. Rooted in the origins of the practice, I often incorporate my passion for Yogic Philosophy, Ayurveda, and the cycles of the moon. I love working with all bodies and strive to create an intuitive and inclusive flow, always guided by breath. My hope is that each student leaves feeling lighter, more present, and deeply recharged.
Throughout my life, I've seen how stress and immobility can take a serious toll on both the body and mind. Experiencing this in my own life led me to yoga. For me, yoga taught me how to slow down, breathe, and return to the present moment. This personal healing experience deepened my understanding of the mind-body connection and reinforced my passion for holistic care. As a Registered Nurse, I’ve always had a desire to help others heal and I use yoga as another way to support people’s emotional and physical healing.
I’ve been teaching yoga since 2020 and hold a 200-hour YTT, 100 hours of Restorative and Yin Yoga training, and Reiki Level 1 certification. I bring a strong foundational understanding of yoga, with a focus on mindfulness, relaxation, and gentle movement. I also enjoy weaving in Pranayama, Qi Gong, and Healing Touch into my practice to help students leave class feeling both calm and energized.
In my classes, I encourage students to keep returning to the present moment through breath or sensations in their bodies. I focus on the pleasure of movement rather than perfect form, and I believe yoga can be intuitive and lighthearted. I welcome anyone who wants to slow down, breathe, and experience the joy of movement in a fun and supportive space.
C-IAYT, Advanced Teacher of Therapeutic Yoga, RYT-500

I create a safe and welcoming environment in which new and experienced practitioners feel safe and empowered to move with love and kindness. Yoga therapy is more than a career, it is a passion and my calling. After spending 25 years as a Certified Professional Accountant, I now dedicate my life helping others move and feel better.
With a personal journey through pain and healing, I have transformed my own struggles into a powerful skillset for guiding others on their path to wellness. My classes are pain care informed and therapeutic in nature. I blend therapeutic yoga, somatic movement, Pilates, myofascial release, breath work and meditation to help practitioners learn about their bodies, release tension and build strength. I offer managing chronic pain, recovering from injury or illness and those looking to stay healthy, strong and move well as they age.
I am a certified yoga therapist with over 2000 hours of training iin therapeutic yoga, Pilates, myofascial release, pain care and meditation. However, the journey never ends, I am a lifelong learner and always advancing my studies.
Those of you searching for pain relief and management may likely benefit from this message. My name is Julie Cook. I was drawn here by family and I am grateful for this shift in my life. My qualifications are as a certified IAYT(International Association of Yoga Therapists) in addition to a 500hr yoga certification as a teacher. I was fortunate enough to also have childhood exposure to Kripalu Yoga with my mother as a practitioner and teacher to me from her studies during the 70/80s time frame. My father also studied/practiced Martial Arts and Kundalini Yoga.
While Modern Yoga Therapy may register as a new modality here in North America, it has been around for over a hundred and fifty years in almost every other corner of the planet. Yoga Therapy is traditionally dated back to the Second Century CE.
My Yoga Therapy training has deeply enhanced my experience and knowledge of Body Mechanics and simple movement vs asana. Witnessing the current shift that is taking place as Allopathic (Western) Medicine welcomes us into the folds has been a game changer for me. I am very excited about this growth and forward movement in healthcare. 2025 and the coming years will present support in a much needed gap for patients(I prefer the word ‘clients’ for their own empowerment).
AS a C-IAYT, I am grateful for the welcoming of our much needed modality within the total client experience.
Experiencing how a strong embodiment practice strengthened every area of her life, she is now devoted to guiding women toward cultivating a nourishing relationship within themselves.
When she's not in the studio, Zyanya is deep in the world of home styling, playing outside, or dancing in the kitchen while experimenting with new recipes.
Classes are crafted with a deep attunement to the felt sense-which allows us to become aware of unconscious patterns and perceptions that leave us stuck, blocked or confused. It is at this subtle layer that information becomes understanding and where practitioners are able to move forward with clarity and confidence.
My practice began as a lifeline that helped me manage emotional dysregulation and soothe my mental exhaustion. "You never fell worse after yoga" became the mantra that got me to the studio in snowy dark mornings, day after day. After severe burnout for the second time in my life, I discovered Somatic Therapy; it was the missing piece that took me from simply managing life's stressors to truly transforming out of a state of constant activation.
I specialize in guiding Somatic Meditation-where nervous system regulation can be felt in the body through meditative awareness. It is in this state that we re-establish the body's natural ability to move through cycles of activation/deactivation with ease. I have studied Yogrishi Vishveketu for the past 10 years in the holistic style of Akhanda Yoga as a 500hr RYT, with additional training in Yoga Nidra and Yin Yoga practices. I am a transformational Healing Facilitator, Cranio Sacral Therapist and an Intermediate Somatic Experiencing Practitioner.
My greatest hope is to offer you a practice that allows you to experience the mental clarity and emotional freedom that will lead you back to yourself.
